I was born and brought up in Turkey. I first came to England in my twenties as an au-pair, I returned to Turkey and worked for a pharmaceutical company. I met my husband in Turkey where he was working as an English teacher. I returned to the United Kingdom after we married and worked for the National Health Service for a few years. We have two children.
I work as a lecturer within the FE (Further Education Sector). I have a lot of experience teaching people their second language. Not only have I been teaching Turkish for over 15 years but I have a Certificate in Teaching English to non-native speakers (CELTA). In 2021 I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in TESOL and Linguistics achieving a 2:1. In 2022 I was awarded a post-graduate diploma in education (PGDE) which is a professional teaching qualification.
I have lived in the United Kingdom for over twenty years and have British and Turkish citizenship.
